The power steering hoses and lines transfer the fluid throughout the power steering system. Over time they can start to leak, mainly from the fittings and connections. If any of the hoses or lines are leaking you risk causing damage to more expensive items such as the steering rack or power steering pump due to a lack of fluid.
Due to being exposed to high temperatures it is very common for the plastic tank to split or crack causing fluid to leak. To keep your power steering operating properly make sure you replace your leaking bottle before causing any damage to the power steering system!
