The rocker cover (also known as the valve cover or tappet cover) has an important role of protecting the camshaft, valve lifters and other components in the cylinder head.
When replacing the rocker cover gasket, it is highly recommended to replace all the nut seals to ensure a correct seal. Failing to do so could result in oil leaks!

Sump plugs also have a one use only crush washer to create the seal. Be sure to replace a damaged sump plug immediately to avoid engine oil loss.
