VANOS is BMW's terminology for its variable valve timing units. The bearing rings inside the VANOS unit can be the main cause of the well-known rattle. This repair kit will save you from replacing the whole unit and is a fairly easy DIY job depending on your skill level.
Keeping oil inside your car's engine is extremely important for proper lubrication and performance. After years of heating up, cooling down and exposure to oil the structure of the gaskets can break down, fail, and begin to leak. The rocker cover (also known as the valve cover or tappet cover) has an important role of protecting the camshaft, valve lifters and other components in the cylinder head.
The engine oil pipe feeds oil to the VANOS unit. It connects from the oil filter housing to the VANOS!
The gasket seals the oil filter housing to the engine block and is very common to fail and leak. Keeping oil inside your engine is extremely important for proper lubrication and performance.
