The Valvetronic actuator is a key component in the variable valve timing system. Possible symptoms are: EML light on, loss of power and in “limp mode”, heavy on fuel. These symptoms can occur intermittently until the car cuts off or refuses to start. The Valvetronic system is a BMW variable valve lift system which, in combination with variable valve timing, allows infinite adjustment of the intake valve timing and duration.
After years of heating up, cooling down and exposure to oil the structure of the gaskets can break down, fail, and begin to leak. The rocker cover (also known as the valve cover or tappet cover) has an important role of protecting the camshaft, valve lifters and other components in the cylinder head. Keeping oil inside your car's engine is extremely important for proper lubrication and performance.
